CREATED TO BE WHOLE
"All of us have experienced having our hearts wounded. We brought some of the hurt on ourselves, while other hurts were forced upon us. Because we are unable to fix our own emotional pain, most of us have learned to just cope with it. We are walking wounded, externally fulfilling our responsibilities while bleeding internally from unresolved issues. While we may participate in the drama called life, we answer every curtain call with less than our best performance.
This kind of existence is just a shadow of the life that God desires for you. You may feel as though time and opportunity have been lost forever as you've been emotionally paralyzed by hurt and disappointment. Yet God says in His Word that He is a redeemer of time. He says that He will return to you the years, the time, that have been consumed by adversity. ( See Joel 2:25.) The time may have been lost to you, But it has not been lost to God.
God has an original intent concerning you. It may be found in His Word and lived out through your relationship with Him. You were created to be whole. The account of Creation in the book of Genesis describes God making mankind in His image and likeness. He endowed men and women with authority and placed them as ruler over all that He had created on earth.( see Genesis 1:26-28) Mankind was to be the reflected image of God in the world, exercising fruitfulness and increase, replenishing what was depleted, and subduing anything that attemped to get out of control.
God's intent was not just for the first man and woman. You, also were created to reflect His image and to experience wholeness, fruitfulness, and increase in Him. God wants to heal you of your pain and scars and to restore you to His original purpose ---- demonstrating the same creative power that He used in forming the world.
Genesis 1:2 says, " And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." In Hebrews, the words "without form" means "chaos," "confusion," " empty place," " meaninglessness," or " waste place." (See Strong's, #H8414; NASC, #H8414.) When we are wounded and scarred by people and circumstances, our lives may be described in a similar way.
God took a chaotic and meaningless earth and created an orderly, peaceful world that was overflowing with meaning. The earth orbited systematically around the sun, the ground flourished with vegetation, animals populated the land, and the crown of creation -- mankind -- was made to rule over everything with creativity and productivity.
God wants to bring order out of the chaos that you have been living in. He will restore you to your dominion authority by enabling you to be fruitful and to subdue the things that attempt to get out of control in your life. Just as the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and brought about the transformation of the earth from confusion to order, it is the work of the Holy Spirit to activate the image of God in each of us, bringing to life all the things that God has prophetically positioned us to accomplish.
The Bible says " Now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be " ( 1 John 3:2 ). When God was about to create the world, it was basically a mess. It wasn't evident what it would become once God had spoken life to it. In the same way, we can see only a glimpse of what we will be after God has restored peace, order, and meaning to our lives.
God's Word tells of His grace toward us. It is a cup of love that overflows at the point of our need. He is the supplier of all that you lack---- physically, relationally, and emotionally. " And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work " (2 Corinthians 9:8) His Word assures you that He is concerned about the prosperity of your soul as well as the rest of your life (See 3 John 1:2.)
